Tess + Jeremy // Wedding!//06.12.12

Something that I’ve began appreciating more and more these days are folks that march to the beat of their own drum and who aren’t afraid to be unique. Over the last year I’ve found such an affection for these people and have started to seek them out. It’s poured into my love of travel too.. I’m constantly looking for a new little town to visit with David with loads of character and of a sweet uniqueness. I have a blog posting rolling out soon with some images of one of these very places.. but that’s for another day.

Today, I want you to meet Tess + Jeremy… good, good people. Tess has always been one to inspire a sense of uniqueness. I’ve known this girl since our high school days and to me she always seemed to be a big fish in a little pond in our tiny town of Corryton [or "corington" or "court'n"]. I can’t put my finger on how exactly, but she’s always inspired me to think outside the box. When I met Jeremy the day of their wedding I realized almost immediately how in-sync they were. There is a sweet depth there that just brought me such joy. I loved spending the day with them and their sweet families.

When it comes to their wedding.. it made my little backyard-wedding-loving-heart just swoon. Tess’s parents built the perfect barn on their property and every unique detail was perfectly Tess and perfectly sweet + southern. This was a great day.. and the greatness flowed into then night where I got to dance + party with my very best girls. Thanks Tess + Jeremy for such a great great day and for letting be capture it for you!!

Allison + Casey // Engagements//06.05.12

I only have just a moment to write about Allison + Casey in the midst of a mountain of editing going down in the office this week.. so I’ll make this short and sweet. I just love this couple! We shot at a beautiful farm in Limestone, TN a few weeks ago [which is just my cup of tea] and I enjoyed every minute of our shoot. One of the things that I was reminded of while editing this session was how very much Casey makes Allison laugh. They just adore each other and I’m very much looking forward to their wedding next month!

Laura + Andrew // Engagements//06.02.12

Oh man. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait one. more. minute to post this session! There is so much I can say about this top-shelf couple.. but I seriously think you will be able to see it for yourself in their engagements. I love love love when couples pick a place to shoot that is personal to them [they are always my favorite sessions] and for this one we headed to UT’s campus and started with the Architecture + Design building. I am completely inspired by new places and new ideas while shooting but THIS ONE TOOK THE CAKE! The moment I stepped inside I was like a kid in a candy shop [forgive the cliche.. it just works]. Man, it’s so neat and so are Laura + Andrew. It was perfect and I’m so excited about what came of it. Getting to know these two was like spending the afternoon with good friends and I seriously can’t wait for their wedding this November!

Charlotte + John // Engagements//05.30.12

Charlotte + John are two awesome people that I met this past winter. When I met with these two after getting Charlotte’s email inquiring it made me start to realize how the world as I know it is getting smaller + smaller. Charlotte knows several of my past clients and a few 2012 people as well. It’s crazy. Well, after meeting with Charlotte + John at our house, I was convinced that I needed to be a part of their wedding! I love their vision for the whole day and on top of that they are just sweet, adorable, and soooo in love! I feel honored that we get to be a part of their wedding.

Here are just a few of my favorite engagement shots from their session a few weeks ago at the Botanical Gardens ;) Enjoy!

Amber + Scott // Engagements//05.11.12

I’m thrilled to share this next set. Meet some dear sweet friends of mine Amber + Scott! Scott was one of my very first friends I met at ETSU almost 10 years ago. It’s one of the neatest things to see your good friends meet the one’s they were made for.. and Amber couldn’t be more amazing + Scott’s perfect match. Seriously.. these two are peas and carrots and I’m pretty sure it shows through every image I shot for their engagement session! I’m so excited about this session and just couldn’t wait to share it!

Kristyn Burnette // Mentor Session//05.09.12

I love spending time with new photographers and teaching them all about this thing I love, photography. I especially love it, when it’s family!! Meet Kristyn, my cousin and brand new [talented] photographer. It was exciting to hear all about Kristyn’s goals and dreams. We also talked about workflow, lighting, web presence and the Knoxville wedding scene. This girl has drive and I look forward to seeing where she takes her talent. To check her out click HERE!

Kellie + Brian // Engagements//05.04.12

I just love this couple and am so excited about their wedding coming up in September. Since they had already had some engagements taken before booking me we decided to do a quick morning shoot at the UT stadium where they had their first date. It was neat to listen to them remember all the little details as we walked around the bleachers where it all began. I only hope I did that sweet memory justice. Meet Kellie + Brian!

Kathleen + Joe // One Year Anniversary!!//05.01.12

If you’ve been following my blog for the last year or if you’re UP on the Knoxville wedding industry [heck, you might just be a lucky Knoxvillian] you know this couple! Meet Kathleen + Joe! I shot their wedding around this time last year and from start to finish it was an incredibly unforgettable day! I will never forget it. Since then, I’m thankful to say they have become my friends. Not only are these two awesome people in their day to day lives.. but they are also awesome wedding photographers @ JOPHOTO.  I was super pumped when they asked me to shoot their one year anniversary session at their uncle’s farm. I love tall grass at sunset. I’m not sure that I will ever get over that.. even when the trend moves to something new I will be THAT photographer still shooting in a field at sunset… pretty sure of it. ;) You will soon be seeing pictures of me and my hubby on their site as well [sometime this summer]! Yay for love and yay for friends! ;)
