I’m beyond thrilled with the direction weddings are going in these days! Brides are not settling for the cookie-cuter, run-of-the-mill, everyday 1990 – 2005 wedding details.. they are bravely thinking outside the box and making their wedding their own! With the help of awesome inspiration sites like: www.stylemepretty.com and www.greylikesweddings.com and ETSY.. these girls are making my photography dreams come true! As it normally goes in the world of E. TN. weddings, including my own, we are usually late in the game when it comes to trends in the wedding industry. Not anymore! Kathleen + Joe are two of my favorite people. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.. clients turned friends are my very favorite part of this job. It’s hard to call this a job because I love it so.. but never-the-less. Joe + Kathleen are also wedding photographers [JoPhoto] and also get to enjoy this super fun career! Joe is the guy that everyone wants at their party.. fun, down-to-earth and what I gathered from his friends.. one awesome friend. Kathleen is the definition of fun and her energy is very contagious. I don’t think I caught one image of her not smiling [unless I asked her not to]. 
Oh, and when they are together, nothing makes more sense. They are made for one another!
Their fab wedding was held on the beach of Hunter Valley Farms in Knoxville which is quickly becoming my favorite wedding venue. You know someone is in the wedding industry when they pour over the details like these two did. Everything was beautiful and perfect for pictures.. including their dog flicker! So excited to share the images from their day.

Yay for Bethany + Nathan! These two have such a sweet story of young love that’s stood the test of time. They have such a sweet spirit about them and laugh at everything that comes their way. Laughter is such a strong quality for a marriage and one that David and I cherish so very much. These two have that base covered and then some. I’ve been lucky to get to know Bethany over the years through her sister, Ashley, who is a sweet friend of mine. I’ve watched Bethany and her twin sister grow up throw Ashley’s eyes and her excitement for Bethany getting married is so contagious and makes me think of her as my sister too. I love this family and am very excited and honored to be shooting Bethany + Nathan’s wedding.
On another note.. Nathan.. LOVES.. fishing and has collected some pretty fabulous gear to prove it. I’m not sure he’d call it “fabulous” exactly.. but I think you’ll get the picture. One of my favorite things about this shoot is shooting them as they usually are when he takes Bethany fishing… she reads magazines and works on her tan as he catches the big ones. I love it and I LOVE being able to capture stories like this with my camera.
We shot this session at Norris Dam. The park by the river there is one of my very favorite places to shoot. We had a blast and I hope you enjoy the product as much as I did.

There are so many great things I can say about this shoot. Lauren + Robert are just amazing. I met these two while shooting my second wedding of 2010.. they were part of the bridal party and they know how to have a good time. I was so impressed with them and was thrilled when I received an email about their wedding! Due to scheduling conflicts I couldn’t shoot their wedding, but was thrilled that I was able to shoot their engagements! I’m a huge believer in the engagement session telling the story of the couple. These two met at Ridgecrest when they were both counselors there.. it only made sense to shoot in the exact location where their love grew. I caught myself literally smiling while editing their images. Every other picture was of them laughing and just being them. The post after this one will be of the out-takes from the session. They are just too funny not to share. In the meantime.. enjoy the engagement session of Lauren + Robert G!!

Lauren and I connected quickly as we shared the same major, and career dreams, and Robert’s love for Hot Rod and quoting it made it easy to call them “sweet friends”.
