every time i sit to write a personal blog post, i have to pick the perfect song to play in the back ground. i’m on a real Amy Seeley kick right now… which tends to be pretty slow and weepy.. so i will try not write slow and weepily.

soooo much has been going down at the hensley hacienda over the last few months.. but i’ve had zero desire to blog about it. i’ve had a totally relaxing winter season just hanging out behind my computer.. wrapping up weddings here and there and being an album designing fiend… and yes.. in sweat pants [for it is sweat pant season for me + other wedding photographers after all]. Glorious. something also quite glorious is how God has been moving in our lives over the last few months. we’re finally getting some insight to why he’s having us downsize EVERYTHING in our lives and move to a house 1/2 the size of the one we have. pieces are moving together and it’s way cool to see. i don’t feel it’s quite time to share exacts.. but just know it’s coming and the miracle of it all is he chooses to use silly, worthless folks such as david + i to do ANYTHING.. totally miraculous and totally cool. to be continued.
so this past weekend we spent all three days in north carolina! we are quickly falling in love with that place and all of it’s cute and cozy towns it has to offer. mid last year we took a trip west to visit a few national parks and 100% fell in love with the town of jackson hole, wy. it’s pretty amazing. last weekend.. we found a place [much closer] that is almost equal.. blowing rock, nc! the cutest, coziest, friendlies little snow town there is… have an anniverary/birthday/valentines day/get away from the bills + kids weekend coming up? Choose the Ragged Gardens Inn! Best place we’ve ever stayed and THE BEST MEAL OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE [lamb chops, mashed potatoes + a zucchini boat.. yes.. zucchini boat]!

friday night/saturday [beech mountain] … staying @ the Zajonc’s cabin and loving on them and their flipping awesome kiddos and 3 ft of SNOW!
saturday [banner elk, nc]… snowboarding @ ski beech.. david’s #1 hobby currently [and he's getting pretty good at it too]

sunday morning [blowing rock]… knights on main breakfast.. so yummy!
sunday afternoon [johnson city]… the nutter’s house [some of our super favorite sweet friends] delivering long belated christmas gifts.. i think every kid we know gets gifts 2-3 weeks post [insert holiday here]
